Warm Greetings from  Chuck Fuery ("Dr. Chuck"). I'm one of the founders of  My Special Piano. I grew up in a musical family in California. My grandfather was a professional violinist, pianist, and conductor. At 19, I became a concert pianist and debuted with the Chopin Piano Concerto #1 in E minor. I went on to earn numerous awards  including the Eisner Prize for Creative Excellence and the Alfred Hertz Memorial Fellowship for Advanced Studies in London. I later earned a Doctorate from Stanford in piano performance and taught both at Stanford University and UC Berkeley for a number of years. My Master Classes in Romantic Improvisation have been widely acclaimed. I have been blessed to have a number of wonderfully successful pianists as my students. Some have gone on to establish national careers and have become award wining  recording artists. As a result, I am very knowledgeable both about the player as well as the instrument.  I know what great players are looking. Likewise,  I know how to select an excellent instrument and I know how to refurbish an older instrument to create a magnificent result.  Our company is designed about customizing your experience and getting just exactly what you need.   MSP specializes in selling and renting high and Steinway and Yamaha instruments. We pride ourselves in offering much higher quality instruments and at lower prices than you can find elsewhere. You can search the Internet and you will not find better quality instruments at any price. Likewise, you will not be able to find reputable companies that rent out Steinway Grand Pianos for the long-term and at prices that are affordable.The reason for this is we are very efficient with our business model and we do not have the same overhead as other stores. Then they come to us for a very Different Experience.  At "My Special Piano", we go through an exhaustive diagnostic process which tells us exactly what kind of Piano the student, the teacher, or the concert artist should have. You will  play on several carefully selected instruments to give you an array of pianos to choose from. (Yamaha, Steinway, European Instruments, Ivory Keys, Renner and Steinway actions of differing sensitivies)  This process takes approximately 60 to 90 min. after which you will have a much deeper understanding of what it is you are looking for.   And we will have a deeper understanding how We can serve you.
